About Komma

People before modules

We are building the HR platform we were missing ourselves: one that helps with the work, rather than just recording that it happened.

Why we exist

HR systems have become filing cabinets. They should not be.

Most HR platforms are organised around fields that need filling in. That is why managers do not use them, and why HR ends up being the one chasing people for information.

Komma turns that around. We start from the situation an HR professional or a manager is actually in — an application that needs answering, a new colleague starting Monday, a pay run that needs approving — and build from there. The rest is something the system should keep track of by itself.

It is also why we built the whole chain: someone hired in the recruitment module is created in the organisation, gets an onboarding flow, records time, is part of the pay run and is assessed in a review — without anyone typing the same thing twice. You can only do that if it is one system, rather than five different tools that do not talk to each other.

And it is why we put AI where it genuinely helps: drafting, summarising and spotting patterns. Not making decisions about people. You do that.

How we work

Four things we do not compromise on

01

Close to the customer

We build alongside the HR teams who use the platform. Call us with a problem and you will speak to someone who can do something about it.

02

Simple over complete

We would rather say no to a feature than make the working day more complicated. A system nobody wants to use solves nothing.

03

Careful with data

HR data is about as personal as it gets. Everything sits in the EU, access is controlled, and you own your data — including the day you leave.

04

AI with a person at the wheel

Karma is welcome to write the draft and find the pattern. Decisions that affect someone's working life are made by people.

The team

The people behind Komma

We have done recruitment, onboarding, payroll and development reviews ourselves — and wrestled with the systems meant to support them.

Our story

From frustration to platform

  • How it started

A shared inbox and four systems

The idea came from having lived it: tracking applicants in email, onboarding in a spreadsheet, hours in another system and reviews in a document nobody could find again.

  • First step

We asked HR teams what actually hurts

Instead of building a feature list, we sat down with HR leads, payroll administrators and managers in Danish companies and followed their workflows.

  • Along the way

We built the whole chain, not a module

It took longer, but that was the point: if recruitment, payroll and development do not share data, you have just rebuilt the same silos — only in one browser tab.

  • Now

    Karma and a wider launch

We are putting AI into the workflows where it saves real time, and opening up to more companies. Write to us if you would like to be part of it.

Want to help shape it?

We are still taking input from HR teams who want a say in what we build next.
